EMG - electromyography<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Our neurology department has a new EMG diagnostic machine. EMG is used to examine the full spectrum of neuromuscular diseases, as well as peripheral nerve diseases. The speed of conduction of the impulse in the stimulated nerve and the magnitude of the electrical response to stimulation in the muscle or in another nerve site are measured. The most common diagnosis investigated is CTS - carpal tunnel syndrome (a compression syndrome that causes disability or damage to the median nerve - the nervus medianus in the carpal tunnel - of the wrist).
\nNo special preparation is required before the examination. You can eat and drink normally and take your normal medications. There is no need to worry about the examination. If the doctor uses scanning skin electrodes for the examination, the method is absolutely painless. The needle electrode is inserted into the appropriate muscle, and inserting the needle electrode into the muscle by puncturing it causes almost no pain at all because the electrodes are very thin - thinner than ordinary injection needles.
\nThe examination is ordered by a neurologist and a referral with a completed application form is required.<\/p>\n

\nP\u0159i vy\u0161et\u0159en\u00ed jsou V\u00e1m na hlavu p\u0159ipevn\u011bny sn\u00edmac\u00ed elektrody. P\u0159ipevn\u011bn\u00ed nen\u00ed bolestiv\u00e9. Po ov\u011b\u0159en\u00ed spr\u00e1vn\u00e9ho kontaktu v\u0161ech elektrod dostanete za \u00fakol sledovat obrazovku. L\u00e9ka\u0159 p\u0159itom na monitoru po\u010d\u00edta\u010de sleduje, jak na zrakov\u00e9 podn\u011bty reaguje V\u00e1\u0161 mozek.
\nVy\u0161et\u0159en\u00ed sluchov\u00fdch evokovan\u00fdch potenci\u00e1l\u016f (BAEP) prob\u00edh\u00e1 podobn\u011b. M\u00edsto obrazovky v\u0161ak budete vn\u00edmat zvukov\u00e9 sign\u00e1ly ze sluch\u00e1tek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
