Department of Clinical Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology
Department description
The DCBMI laboratory carries out qualitative and quantitative biochemical, immunological, microbiological and molecular genetic tests of blood, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, faeces, sputum and other biological material for inpatient and outpatient departments of the Hospital Jihlava and for all other medical facilities in the area according to their requirements.
Provides consultative activities to interpret laboratory results including rational ATB therapy consultation activities. For tests not available at DCBMI, it provides specimen collection, pre-analytical processing, triage and transport to sites capable of providing these services.
OKBMI is divided into the following sections:
- Section of Clinical Biochemistry (sKB).
- Section of Clinical Microbiology (sCM).
- Section of Clinical Immunology (sCI).
- Laboratory of Molecular Genetics (LMG).

The OKBMI laboratory is listed in the Register of Clinical Laboratories and meets the basic technical and staffing requirements. The Molecular Genetics Laboratory (LMG) is accredited by ČIA under number 8314. The biochemistry, microbiology and immunology laboratories are certified according to NASKL, Audit R3. All sections of the laboratory operate in accordance with ČSN EN ISO 15189 ed. 3:2023. The laboratories also take part in external quality assessment schemes organised by SEKK, EHK and Instand. Certificates and certificates of participation are published in the Laboratory Manual.
