Department description

On 18 September 2001, at the request of the Hospital Jihlava, the Czech Society of Cardiology discussed the establishment of a workplace for invasive cardiology.

The Committee of the Czech Society of Cardiology, in accordance with the concept of the National Cardiovascular Programme in the Czech Republic, recommended the establishment of this workplace. The Department of Invasive Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology was built on the premises of the Hospital in Jihlava in the first half of 2007. Under the name Cardiocentrum Vysočina PLC it started its activity on 18th September 2007.

After the opening of the Cardiocentre Vysočina PLC, an independent cardiology department was established on 1st February 2008. The construction of these two departments fulfilled the condition for the introduction of timely and accessible modern cardiological care in the Vysočina Region. The main focus of activity is the care of patients with the acute coronary syndrome for the area of the Vysočina Region – approximately 520 000 inhabitants.
