Department description
The Department of Laboratory Medicine is a multidisciplinary unit that combines laboratory diagnostics, clinical haematology care and transfusion medicine.
It provides a wide range of laboratory tests in clinical biochemistry, haematology, clinical microbiology, clinical immunology and molecular genetics. Its services also include specialist consultations, interpretation of laboratory findings and support for clinical departments in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
The OLM also includes the haematology outpatient clinic, the transfusion service and the blood collection unit. The department provides its services to the inpatient and outpatient units of Jihlava Hospital and to other healthcare facilities in the region.
